Just did a quick mock up, incomplete but with all the most important parts, of the gear shifting drum and forks. Roughly, I'd think this is what you will see when pulling the bottom case off the engine.
For reference, the smaller fork goes into the middle groove of the drum, and the other two large and identical ones, to the groves on the left and right.
In this photo, the clutch would be on the right.

Upper case viewed from the inside.
The little hole next to the journal in the middle is how the oil dripping hole looks - that one in the middle of the cylinders, when looking at the outside of the top case.

This is how the crank case vent looks from the inside. This small chamber is closed. It has a connection to the oil pump section in the cover through a square opening (about 1" by 1"), and then there are a couple small holes going to the transmission and one to the clutch activating mechanism chamber. (photo upside down)

Anyone has a request to take a photo of a specific area let me know. Once the cases come together it will be too late!

I have a request Stan please.
There's a web in the lower case I believe just in front of the transmission input shaft that the secondary chain will hit if the secondary chain is too worn out ( out of spec). A pic of that web would be appreciated .
Thanks,
John

The overview of the bottom case.
I think this is what you are talking about John? I haven't put back the chain to see exactly where the possible contact area is, but I will later. Perhaps, just in case, it's good to shave off a couple millimeters there.
