I'll suggest the most likely culprits are sticking injectors. Don't know the history here but if it's been laid up for a loooooooong time, I would look there first.

Hi Hoganter,
I'll be watching this thread as I am about to pull the throttle bodies so I can check out the injectors on my '85 Voyager. The service manual has a routine that is suggested for cleaning the injectors it involves a 12v light bulb and a 12v battery in series with the injector.
You can download the service manual from the bottom of the home page for this site.

I cleaned the injectors in an ultrasonic cleaner and tested them visually.
I would like to install new injectors but it's not straight forward to do that.
I have changed the fuel pressure valve from a variable back to the original with no real change.
When I was adjusting the variable I was not getting any real change in running.
It runs well just before it dies when you turn the fuel off, so I am going to test the inputs again to the ecu.
I replaced the injector loom with a new one so may have confused her if its wired incorrectly.
Will check engine temp, air temp and throttle position ( again and again) as is the way with these things.
I now have access to a new oscilloscope ($10k) so can check signals with that.
Will advise if I find anything
Cheers

First question to ask is... what did I do last?

10k o'scope.. wowzer. I thought $750 was huge for my little table guy..

Please keep us posted. At least know I'm very interested. I don't have any DFI kz's but might someday...

Testing injectors can be performed with minimal cost..
The cheapest way is to buy some large storages from Amazon, some tubing, and a 9 V battery.
Fill the syringes with fuel, energize the solenoid with the 9 V battery, press the plunger on the syringe, look at the spray pattern.
Do that for all six, and see how they compare.

I bought this little guy, relatively cheap money. I think it was like 50 bucks and produces a wave form to the injector. You can control the frequency and amplitude of the square wave.

I did this on my Yamaha FJR 1300 and determined I had several injectors that were clogged. I sent them to RC engineering where they were rebuilt, tested, and flow rated.

I actually got together with several other FJR owners and we sent 32 injectors. I personally had 12 injectors cleaned. RC engineering produces a flow chart for each injector.

On a sidenote, I was talking to an engineer at the nuclear plant who used to be a injection engineer. He said the tolerance was -15% flow. Seems like a lot.
