I’m following events with interest, and with hope for a good outcome.  I’m puzzled by the seeming omission of a    ‘ black box’  device, similar to those used on aircraft.  From my scant knowledge, a black box transmits some kind of signal in an emergency, which helps to locate a downed plane. I wonder why such a device was not included on the Titan sub.

"A top secret military acoustic detection system designed to spot enemy submarines first heard what the U.S. Navy suspected was  the Titan submersible implosion  hours after the submersible began its voyage, officials involved in the search said.The Navy began listening for the Titan almost as soon as the sub lost communications, according to a U.S. defense official. Shortly after  its disappearance Sunday , the U.S. system detected what it suspected was the sound of an implosion near  the debris site discovered Thursday  and reported its findings to the Coast Guard commander on site, U.S. defense officials said."

Think of it this way. US Navy, with super fleet of subs, rarely dive more than 1k feet deep. For safety reasons. The Titan was built without oversight, engineers quit the project objecting to testing methodologies, and it was steered by a gaming controller. 

Mount Everest, at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) is the world's highest mountain and a particularly desirable peak for mountaineers. More than 297 people have died trying to climb it.

They all had ambitions. They all had goals. 

Just don't have foolish ones!

To topic, underwater communication is very difficult. The titan only had text messages for directions. Of course, implosion took care of need for directions.

The Titanic is at 12,500 feet. Looks like Titan imploded at ~8,500 feet.
