Guys, its probably been covered before, but I am about to do an oil and filter change on my 13, and to date I've used a good quality motorcycle 10-40: (old school dinosaur) mineral oil. I've stayed clear of semi-synthetic stuff, as when I tried it in my Z900 I achieved instant clutch slip.
But I've been offered some top quality semi-synthetic motorcycle oil at a silly price, and before simply dismissing it, thought I would ask if anyone on the forum has used semi or full synthetric in their KZ13's ??

Cheers Tim

I use semi-synthetic in my 1979 kz1300. No problems so far.

Hi Tim,

There's currently an OIL thread in the "engine" forum:

www.kz1300.com/index.php/forum/engines/1...er-1300?start=6#7150

I've been running full synthetic for 30+ years and never had a clutch issue, but then I've stayed away from oils that contain friction modifiers.
