I received my Liska Racing idler wheel yesterday and installed it today. Here's a photo of the two side by side:

Hard to believe they're the same part.

I also received my ZZR1100 CCT. I'll take 10mm off the spring and install that, too. After that's all said and done I guess I will install the ignition system and such, and then move on to the cylinder heads.

I'm in the middle of the same repair among other things. Haven't decided which gear I will use. Clearly the metal one will last longer but at this point the nylon one will outlast me.

Yesterday I did some painting. First I mock-installed the head and valve cover (I'll do the actual install in the bike, but it will be easier to fit in the frame with no valve cover), all bazillion bolts and all. I taped up all the orifices and degreased the hell out of the engine; when that was done, I hit it with a can of VHT primer.

Once the primer had dried I coated the engine and cases with VHT Titanium Silver Metallic.

I'll let that cure for another day or two and give it another coat, after which I'll hit it with some VHT clear enamel.

Then it's time to get the engine into the frame!

That looks great. A nice shade of silver.

Looks great.. i used VHT black on my Z1000 engine which also looked great, i even baked the cases in the oven ( dont tell the wife ) to cure the paint. they looked great until i spilt some petrol on them and it all washed off. might just as well not bothered.. good luck.

Well, the air temperature here is presently about 47C. I think they'll cure just fine in the air! I have a clear coat enamel on the way and I'll give it a couple coats of that before installation. It will also be quite a long time before this is ready to run, so it'll have ample time to cure.
