Steering bearings.

Any suggestions for replacement steering bearings in the UK for my 1980 A2 please?

You might try AllBalls bearings... 

I'm not a big fan of AB bearings... but tapered is the way to go, and they are available.

With a bit of searching, you might find higher quality FAG or Timkens... 

Then again, steering head bearings are under-stressed, not worked hard, and the AB bearings price point is good too.

The key is tapered bearing, not ball bearings.

After years of service, ball bearing will make indents into the races, causing a 'notchy' feeling.

I took the bearings to a local auto-parts store where they matched the #'s and provided me with the bearings needed.
1980 KZ 1300 sr# KZT30A-009997

And don't forget the seals some replacement bearings don't come seals and will let all kinds of crud settle in on the bearings causing problems
