Thanks for the interest !

The owner indicated he wanted to wait 'til the end of the season to proceed with the work.  He'll be in a better po$ition at that time.  In the mean time I have been doing some minor work in preparation.
The Nology coils were mounted poorly with the bottom left coil boots and leads touching the frame with some cross-firing resulting.

I now know how all of the washers ended up inside the cam chain tunnel (plus several in the fan shroud and several more caught between the exhaust flanges and the Cyl head). And of course: Plus the one that went through the cam chain sprocket and secondary-shaft gear, causing the chain to derail. Whether the coils were being mounted (dry fitted) when the head gasket was replaced or simply with the cam cover off to facilitate the fitting; the angle brackets used, created an awkward somewhat frustrating task for me to remove.  It didn't help that different fasteners were employed along with self locking nuts.

I too dropped several nuts and washers but at least had the common sense to cover the open engine with a large towel along with a previously made foam cam chain tunnel "plug".  It is still beyond the scope of my imagination to understand how anyone could be so careless, unaware, negligent and/or indifferent, but....."To each their own" !

It's too bad Nology positioned the hollow rivets (used to secure the core laminations and to provide a means of mounting), in the horizontal orientation; from the perspective of mounting on a 1300. Had they been oriented vertically; mounting would be so much easier !

The brackets have been straitened, trimmed to a more uniform size and the razor sharp corners and edges have been dealt with.  A more sensible and user friendly means of mounting, as a result.
Once the owner confirms he's ready to go on the work required, the reassembly will be strait forward and he'll finally have a 1300 that will be reliable and enjoyable.

The irony to all of this is blatantly obvious.  Had this "situation" not occurred and  given what was discovered after the fact:  "This engine would have destroyed itself in short order" !
A "Blessing in Disguise" with no doubt !
A note here:  The current owner is not responsible for the previous work done  "To"  this bike !
