A1 grab rail

Hi everyone, been looking around for a couple of bits for the bike. First thing I'm after is a grab rail if anyone has one to sell. Also need a rear light lens, mines only cracked a bit but I'm a fussy fecker :)

Russ hi, hope all is well.
Re grab rail, they were first fitted on the A3 model so you may need to ditch the OEM lifting handle on your A1 - if you go that route I begs first dibs on the lifting handle :)

Rear lenses are like Unicorn droppings - not seen one offered for ages, I was offered an NOS one about a year ago from the US for 200 GBP plus import charges and shipping - you can guess my response.
Cheers Tim

I am confused. I have 2 1980 bikes and neither has a lifting handle or grab handle. So I have only ever seen pictures of them. For the life of me I cannot figure out why anyone would remove either...

Here is the 1980-A2 diagram of partzilla. We are taking about #11 correct?

Yes Item #11 is correct. My 1980 B2 has one. Even with my 250 lbs on the center stand foot assist pedal, you still need to nudge the bike up by lifting (about 20 lbs of force) on that handle. If you grab the seat pan to do it, you take the chance of bending the pan.

The bike has the item 11 grab rail and you do need it to put it on the center stand as stated. I will have a weigh up when I get the grab rail whether the best option is to keep what I've got, or try to get it on the stand with the rail. If I do have to use the handle to do it I will sell the rail on.

If you plan to install the 81- grab rail to 79 or 80 model, bear in mind that the frame does not have the rear fixing points ready for the large size grab rail. You need to fabricate the brackets to suit.
