Hmm... It's not that far from where I live. Kind of ugly, but would be good when traveling with a passenger and some luggage. Is this desirable?

In my opinion it's fugly. But threw it out there because everyone doesn't share my tastes (Thank God, would be a boring world).
If I was making long road trips, I'd buy a Concours or a Gold Wing before I bought this.

LOL Yes, I have a Goldwing for those. But I must say that the KZ1300 seat is the most comfortable to me. Without all the compartments the Goldwing has though, not very practical. I think I will just use the Kawasaki for short trips when riding with a passenger. On longer solo trips it will be easy to mount a bag in the seat. I use Saddlemen BR3400 Sissy Bar Bag . When mounted on the passenger seat it also acts as a backrest.
