I see no sealing beads around the cooling ports on your H-gasket.  Glad it worked for you.

I'm expecting a call to pick-up my Kawi.  OEM.
It will be nice to put the engine back together to where it was weeks ago, and then focus on finishing the "project".

Where are you guys getting OEM head gaskets ? The company I've been getting OEM parts from for years just told me the gasket is no longer available from the manufacturer. I see that they are offered by MCG in Germany and Zed in Uk. But costly with shipping and all. Some on ebay but who knows how old those are ?

I must have missed one of your posts, Scotch.  I'm interested to know what this project is that you're working on.  Is it a bike you have bought, or somebody else's?

I bought the  Bike Coleface was parting-out last Fall.  It broke my heart that an essentially complete bike was going to picked apart like vultures on a carcass.  I also thought it would keep me busy over the winter.....which it certainly did.  He sold it as an '80 but in fact it's a '79.  The registration shows '80 ?  The last time it was insured (Alberta) was in '94 !  Could be a shit show trying to get it re-registered in B.C....but fingers crossed !
I contacted someone who reproduces VIN stickers that match the original.  He would NOT produce one as a 1980.  He would only make the VIN sticker as a '79 based solely by the Frame #.  The guy has integrity !

I made a decision to not waste time taking pictures and documenting the build on the Forum.  It's been done so many times; my contribution would be redundant.
eBay had to step in for me to get the refund on those head gaskets from BRIXAMOTO.  BRIX. acknowledged the gaskets were defective and emailed a printable return postage shipping label but NO ONE could successfully scan the bar-code.  Not Canada Post, Fed-EX, Purolator , DHL.... !   BRIX. stopped responding to my inquires about this.

This was waiting for me in this mornings mail: (Copy-n-Paste)

Hello Bob, Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Service regarding the item (372646161977) "GUARNIZIONE TESTA CILINDRO 734.19.04 KAWASAKI 1300 ZN Voyager 1984-1989". My name is Sahil, and I will assist you with the best possible option to get your issue resolved.  Here are the details I was able to capture from the transaction as of now:
  • I can understand that you want return the item but seller label is not correct and you need a return shipping label. Please be assured I'll resolve this issue for you.
First of all, I would like to share that you are covered under the eBay money back guarantee for this transaction and your money is safe. You have nothing to worry about, we are here to protect our valued buyers. I am glad to inform you that we have instructed your seller to provide a means of return within 5 days hold. With this, we have required your seller to do one of the following options: •Send you refund without requiring the item back•Send you funds to cover return postage•Send you a prepaid label for the return shipment In the meantime, you don't need to do anything. If the seller failed to provide a resolution within 5 days hold timeframe, we will not hesitate to close the case in your favor and issue your full refund without requiring you to return the item. This would be the seller's last chance to facilitate the return and have their item back before we issue your full refund. On the other hand, if the seller complied, we will be sending you instructions and proceed with the return of the item. While this case is on hold, I encourage you to keep open communication with your seller to let them know how much the return shipping cost is, just in case they choose the option to give you funds instead of a return label. I am positive that the information provided will be helpful. I appreciate your continued business with us. Thank you for contacting eBay. Have a wonderful day! Kind regards,   Sahil M.eBay Customer Service

My OEM gasket is supposed be ready for pick-up on Tuesday.  I could have it running by noon that day.       Just needs paint but  I haven't decided on that yet.
