Using Radiation to Reduce Osteoarthritis Symptoms

I would dare say most of us still riding 1300s are, of, uhh, you know, a certain age?
And with that age comes things like osteoarthritis in hands, hips, knees, etc.
I have a bad case in my hands. To the point it's difficult to work in the shop, hold a pen, or even worse, take care of my backside.
Did some research. Found out that in Europe use of radiation to reduce inflammatory effects is commonplace.
Researched for folks perhaps doing the same procedures here in the United States.
Got lucky, found a doctor about 70 miles away from me who is, if you will, the pioneer of this on the West Coast.
The treatment therapy is twice weekly for three weeks. I am 1/3 of the way through as of today, and I am already feeling the benefits of reduced pain and greater flexibility in both hands. I spoke with the doctor today who said maximum benefits would be 2 to 3 months after the last therapy session.
The best part is, Medicare approves of this procedure meaning I won't be paying maximum cost, which I greatly appreciate.
This is the before picture. It was after I had accidentally burned my hands using chemicals in the shop.
This is after two radiation treatments out of six.
I have less pain and more flexibility already.
The doctor said it would be 2 to 3 months after the last therapy where the benefits would be maximized.
He also said that if I have progress at this point, it's a very good indicator for the future.
So if you will, fingers crossed.
No pun intended.
Here's the big scary nuclear irradiator.
It's a little bit more sophisticated than a Shepherd 89 we use to calibrate Portable Radiation equipment at the Nuclear Power plant.
I realize this topic has very little to do with Kawasaki 1300 motorcycles. But if our bodies are so broken, we can't ride the damn things, and this is apparently working, it only felt right to share the info in hopes it might help somebody else.
The doctor provided a PDF he presented at a seminar. It has good info on how radiation works to reduce symptoms. It's too big to add as an attachment. This link will display the document from my website. It's a good read.
