Chemical induced hand burns - lesson learned
2 days 2 hours ago - 2 days 2 hours ago
2026-04-23 Hand Chemical Burn
Recently changed tires on the 1979 KZ1300 A1. Decided to clean and polish the rims too.
Was using Ru-Glyde for tire mounting, Flitz and Mothers aluminum polish, bumper black and lacquer thinner.
Me, being the fart smeller I am, used no gloves.
Now I have chemical burns, my fingers are shedding skin.
Went to doc-in-a-box who said he's seen worse but it will be multiple days.
Been applying moisturizer and topical cream steroid, this is day 2.
The 'new' skin is very tender and sensitive.
Fingertips especially.
From here on out, latex gloves.
Lesson Learned.

That doesn't look too good. Maybe now is the time to commit a crime NO fingerprints. All kidding aside, hope you heal soon.
