Bill, I hope I'm not violating any rules by sharing this link here, but i just couldn't let this go by without EVERYBODY here seeing what can be done with these engines and bikes. Makes me want to go jerk my engine out and get started blueprinting it like this.

SWEET !

Some of those pictures should be archived for easy access as they are a tremendous visual reference resource.

Looking at the details makes me want to dig out my pictures from when I had mine apart in '81, to plate and paint.

No two ways about; I'm happy for the owner ! Would be curious know the final cost.

Purely for reference and perspective.

Again, Very nice !

Ho Guys,

Don Carver's build is already linked in the Build Blog section. Still, there's certainly no reason why we can't discuss it here.

Cindy (being a shrink!) says I am OCD about building things, but this guy's build just felt so RIGHT! Paying attention to all the little details just ensures that the engine will stay together for a long time. As they said, better than factory new!

Lucien, if your's isn't back together completely yet, why not put the time into it one last time to have the best?

Anybody else notice that he didn't use a gasket between the two main crankcase halves, but just some selant? Makes me wonder how that would affect any bearing journal clearances that have half in each case section.

Bill, seems that the build already listed shows a lot more of the before pics. I never did make it all the way through that build before or I would have recognized the two stories as the same. In one of the pics it shows a reassembled engine with all silver paint, but the final version shows black cylinders. not really liking the black. All silver with polished covers really pops IMO!

Motorcycle engine cases are glued together with a semi hardening sealant. 3 bond and hondabond 4 are the coomon names of the stuff.

The candybutt build is very cool, he talks about this mechanic alot... I wonder how many hours he was billed? The cost of this project must have been enormous.
