Way too Stiff Carb Diaphragms
5 days 15 hours ago
Check this out.
Some markings. Not sure what they mean.
But these are way too stiff.
recall KawBoy from Kz1300.com mentioning he had some stiffies too.
I'd not seen any of the other diaphragms I had beeing too stiff..
Until now.
Wonder if anyone has a clue who sold these..
So as to not buy!

I think a UK company was selling them. Lots of reports of being way too stiff - I think they were called Legend Motorcycles but I could be wrong

Re: Way too Stiff Carb Diaphragms
15 hours 41 minutes agoI bought a set from Legend Motorcycles listed on EBay. KZ1300 Carb Diaphragms US $20.18 each. REALLY nice subtle material. BUT there's one thing wrong with them. The ear that locates the diaphragm in the carb body is not indexed properly. It's off by about 20 degrees. If you cut off the ear and install it's fine. Throttle pistons free fall under gravity. It's a beautiful thing.I think a UK company was selling them. Lots of reports of being way too stiff - I think they were called Legend Motorcycles but I could be wrong
I talked to Legend Motorcycles about the issue and they told me they have them manufactured in batches of 300. They said they would address the issue on the next order.

Re: Way too Stiff Carb Diaphragms
11 hours 59 minutes agoInteresting. I just purchased diaphragms from Zed-Parts, as I know what their product looks and feels like as compared to the 'stiffies' shown above. Guess I'll have to buy a couple from Legend Motorcycles to see what they look and feel like too. Wouldn't it be a kick of both Legend MC and Zed-Parts sourced from the same manufacturer?I bought a set from Legend Motorcycles listed on EBay. KZ1300 Carb Diaphragms US $20.18 each.
