TOPIC:

I am able to gently lift the shifter, it goes easily into top gear when there is a steady rpm and under some accelleration.
i notice no ill sounding condition and quite like doing it. Less cable and clutch wear.

But, is this a freak setup or perhaps common?
Might it be a sign of coming trouble?

The fact that you can upshift "under some acceleration" without it slamming I don't understand.  That said, I shift mine as well as most of my bikes clutchless through all the gears by gently easing off the throttle and easing it into the next.  I sometimes downshift clutchless as well, if I'm not in a hurry to slow, by waiting until I feel the pressure from the engine is off the transmission, where it begins to lug or just short of it.  Then it shifts with ease and I either slip it into neutral or gently apply throttle after a turn.
