I would be using it on a 1980 A2 (still learning the models for the KZ13) with a stock exhaust. If the Voyager pan fits on a stock early KZ, that would be stupendous.

I have a 1979 A1 and a 1980 A2 both with deep sumps and both still with their centre stands. One has the standard exhaust and the other has a 6 - 2 Predator exhaust system.

Thanks to Billy/zoso I can hopefully put some of these questions to rest.

I bought this sump and it's pick-up from Billy:

and it fits (a very tight fit) on a K/Z1300 A2/B2 chassis with standard exhausts:

That's this style exhaust if its not clear from the above photo:

There are a couple more photos available for reference (click on any of the above and look left/right through the album)

I actually had questions that I held off on due to the conflicting statements I was seeing. The pictures pretty much clears that all up no question.

I had assumed that the deep sumps between the kz's and later zn's were all the same. If that holds true, any voyager pan from the 6cyl lineup would work right?

If the shape of the pan is different across any of the years, is there anyone willing to find out by how much?

That's... awesome, actually. Exactly what I needed.

Replacing the sump is still pretty far down on my list of "need to do" things, but this at least gives me options. Thanks!

Mikez

From what I remember there are 3 types of oil pan.....

1) shallow pan on early kz's
2) deep pan on later kz's
3) the voyager deep pan

I deep pan on the voyager fits the engine casing of the KZ but cannot be used on a KZ because it's a slightly different shape due to the voyager exhausts. On the old KZ1300 site David had photos of the 3 different types of sump.

cheers
