Hi Gents,

As I need to get the crankcase covers re-chromed I need to get the oil sight glass out. Can anyone tell me how it's done.

Regards

Martin

Find a socket or piece of pipe that is about the right size to fit and carefully tap it out, easy

Hi Kza13,

Mine is the A4 model with the larger sight glass. I thought there may be a retaining ring holding it

The picture is worth a thousand words. You're just going to have to push out the glass from the back side using a narrow screwdriver through the slot in the housing. It will just be a snug fit.Maybe a very light tap on the end of the screwdriver if necessary.

Thanks Kawboy,

I didn't think it was that simple. Thought there would be something else holding it in.
