About 140 miles total. Nice cool day, about 49F, engine heat felt great for once!

About 1/2 way through voltmeter drooped from 18.7 to 13.6 at 4k rpm, 10.2 at idle so rode back to trailer without stopping... LOL.

A little video

Great photos, and superb roads.
Are you happy with the bike now - apart from the charging issue ?   No longer running hot?
Is the acceleration strong and smooth?

you should not be getting 18.7v from your regulator!  Did you buy a Shindengen MOSFET regulator from eBay?  If you did it is almost certainly a clone,  I had exactly the same issue when I did this. Absolutely every FH020A I looked at that was listed as "New" was a fake.

As a note to anyone looking to buy a Shindengen FH020A (or FH012A):

I eventually bought second hand FH020A from an eBay breakers from a BMW S1000R as they are fitted as standard to these bikes. I think some Triumphs use them too.

When I was looking to buy I noticed that none of the clones have exactly the same number of fins, or spaces in the fins, as the original so check them carefully. Shindengen also list information on how to spot fakes.

My bad.. max voltage is 14.8 vdc not 18.7.

Yes, something is failing. After it cooled down 10.2 at idle went to 14.8.

I have a spare RR from my FJR 1300 and some connectors and pins laying around. Might just wire it in and see what happens..

Thank You.

Charging issue now fixed. It's winter now, so I'm running in 60 to 70 F temps, overheating not an issue, actually feels pretty darn good! I did test last summer, 'stress tests', and while it was uncomfie to ride, no boil overs, so I'm calling it good!

Installed new NGK BP6ES's and then old gurl perked right up for today's 130 mile ride. Sadly, still burning oil, and leaking oil, due to crappy gasket kit.. so a teardown, again, will be in order. But today, with new plugs and good charging, cool weather, was a magical ride!
