The last picture is of the circuit board from my last OEM style V/R. The solder appears to have vaporized from heat/arching. Thinking about this scenario a bit more - it's not really a surprise that I found nothing similar on the turn-signal cancel circuit-board as it doesn't deal with anything close to the amps that the V/R deals with.
As a footnote to the signal cancel repair - The unit is "Passive". It can be removed entirely and not affect the signal/4-way operation - in case anyone cares.

I do, because when I will sit on the running bike for the first time I'd like to know if what it does is correct or if I'd be chasing a figment of my imagination trying to solve a non existing problem! haha
And ironically, it sort of did happen on one of my bikes but the other way around, when I finally got a moment of eureka thanks to someone who told me: yes, these bikes do have a self cancelling signal! Such a relief to my thumb..
