1980 kz1300 ignitor
11 years 6 days ago
This is for all you electrical guys out there. Would a 1981 kz1300 ignitor part #21119-1023 work in my 1980 kz1300 (part #21119-1005). One on ebay which would cost me over $500.00 Canadian from Norway, or would I waste the money. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Reid.

Reid,
KZ1300 A1 & A2 have the 21119-2005
KZ1300 A3 has the 21119-1023.
THESE ARE NOT IN ANYWAY INTERCHANGEABLE.
A1 & A2 has pick up coils BEHIND cylinders on RH side of bike (as you sit on it)
A3 Has pick ups at end of crank shaft.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration
Hello Reid:
How about this one in the U.S.? I have ordered from this lister in the past with success. Hard to say how high this one will go but if it stays near $200.00, that's not too bad a price.
Regards.
Todd.

Two more options : somebody clued up on electronics could likely repair yours, or, as Todd suggested a while back,
www.carmousa.com
have three possible solutions.

And most important is keep the shagged units because oneday and closer than most of us think it will be a lot cheaper to build a new unit in the old box than bid on the last working original because if you win the auction you will have to sell the new Rolls Royce to pay for it.
