Reminiscing bygone years

Ah out there, I had a place right at the start of Eleanora Way in 1971-2 and they were busy scraping all the top soil from most of that area to sell to the people who had just built on the new estates that were denuded of top soil to sell to................!
That whole place was virtually stripped of trees, much the same thing happened to large sections of land at Pine Mountain and that low scrub grew back.
Where the house was we looked directly out and down on the Devils Elbow just a bit up stream from the abattoirs at Dinmore.
My father said that he remembered there being an airfield there somewhere when he was at Amberly during WW2.

yeh when I got my block I had to pay to get power put on, extend the line down the main road, that's a while back, i'm on the main road just coming into the area. I also work at that Dinmore place, i'm in the By-Products section, I run the plant that processes the bones from 3,000 cattle a day, pay ain't good but at least it's close to home.
