They look awesome sitting on the work bench - but amazing in that someone would go to all the trouble to put a set like this together
and sell how many?

Absolutely. There surely can't be very many FCR equipped KZ1300s out there?

Seems to be a popular mod in Japan, I've seen a few on youtube with those carbs.
$2,000.00 may sound outrageous but it seems in line with other sets. I once had to replace my entire carb set on my C10 Concours and those were $1,300.00, even with a discount at the dealership.

I remember talking about making a brace of six from 2 sets of Z9 carbs but talking was as far as it got.
I like the front brakes on that bike it might even make it stop.

Oh dear.........not the 6 carbs conversation again. I begin loosing sleep.
I have just got over the nightmares of owning CBX1000's many years ago & having to refit the carbs after rebuilds.
If you think Z1300 Carbs & airbox are tricky to fit, you wont believe what 6 are like.
Then you need to balance all 6...........oh no !, just thinking about it makes me feel ill all over again !
I am quite happy to stay with the terrible 3 twin choke mikunis we have !
