In the past I tried to have a yearly Rally for our members in different parts of the country. The idea was that we should get a member(s) that live in whatever area of the country we were going to meet in that year to help out with planning rides, lodging, etc., for the other members that will be attending. That would make it easier for everyone to plan the trip and also have some confidence that someone will be there that knows the area fairly well.
This worked OK, but it's difficult to get a group of 1300's together because we're so spread out around the country. I attended a few of the annual American Voyager Association Rallies, and noticed that they may have 8 or 10 Voyager 1300's that show up at their large rally besides all the other riders. I figure with all the effort that goes into their event, we'd be better off joining with them and adding more 1300's to the mix. They started off the club originally with just 1300 Voyagers, and then continued with the 1200cc bikes in 86' when those came out. So they have a long history with the 1300, and we can add to that. They don't mind KZ1300 riders joining with them.
Besides their annual Rally they have local AVA Chapters that you might be able to join up and ride with, and some regional rallies as well. This will give you someone to ride with that is also generally supportive of our 1300cc bikes. Watch their site at - amervoyassoc.org
