Last Update 8/11/10
I've had many inquiries about the custom K&N style 'POD' Air Filters I made some years ago, but I've discontinued those and none are available anywhere I know of except that you might find a used set from a member selling them on ebay or some such thing. They really were not an ideal solution for the carb bikes, as I made them for the custom fuel injection kits I was assembling at the time. On carbs they were much too tight of a fit. The throttle bodies were smaller in diameter and shorter overall than a set of carbs. I maintain the original page showing the PODS, but I won't make any more. Feel free to come up with your own design and sell them as there's plenty of demand for a better air filter solution over the stock airbox.
It was quoted $5000 to have molds made for these PODS, although I got a better rate because they couldn't make them fit the carbs properly. For those that are interested, I could have more made from my mold, but there's a $5000 minimum order, and it doesn't make any sense to do that unless you want to put up the money to have it done. Then you'll have a whole bunch of pods to sell that don't really fit properly. If you've got $5000 to spend on this project, it would be better to spend it coming up with a better air filter solution.
On that note, if you go to the South Africa Club page, they have some air filter cones they use which may be an option for you. I show the best pictures I can find in my database from different angles of these cones first. The last 2 images are from a German Z1300 Club meet where I see someone has machined a filter out of aluminum I suppose, and it appears to use the original rubber boots to mount it. So there's options out there if some of you machinists want to make something for us. I prefer the look of the cones with the fine wire mesh on the green bike in the first image assuming it flows enough air.

The following NEW parts are available from Lauri Nurminen in Finland as he has batches of parts made. Contact him at - lauri.elopak@googlemail.com
DO NOT CONTACT david@kz1300.com about these parts!!! I simply added these to my page because Lauri Nurminen didn't have a website. There may be other parts from other members that I'll add to this page at a later date as I'm made aware of them.

Z1300 owners
worldwide finally have a
replacement igniter available for the impossible to find 'one year only' 1981
igniter. This electronic ignition is a faithful reproduction of the original item.
It has been manufactured using modern components and latest manufacturing techniques.
Each unit is individually tested in an engine simulator for 24 hours and comes with one year warranty.
Plug and play installation, the new unit fits into your original igniter
enclosure. The unit is delivered complete with cooling plate, extended cables and original Hitachi connectors.
Installation instruction leaflet with assembly picture is included in the delivery.
Delivery worldwide.
Here's what you'll have to do to swap the new electronics into your old enclosure:
Step 1) Remove igniter box from
bike, loosen igniter box fixing bolts and disconnect the two plugs.
Step 2) Place unit on table and open igniter box cover. Carefully bend the steel
tabs upwards and slide steel cover off. Remove rubber cover.
Step 3) Unscrew the cooling plate fixing screws from outside the igniter box.
Step 4) Unscrew the circuit board fixing screws and remove old igniter.

Step 5) Fasten new igniter in place with the old fixing screws (6).
Step 6) Position rubber cover over igniter and fix steel cover in place with
tabs.
Step 7) Seal the cable opening of the igniter box with suitable silicone based
sealant, and allow sufficient time for sealant to setup before putting unit into
service.
Step 8) Connect the wiring plugs and install igniter box on bike.
Note! The igniter is a copy of the original one and requires that the original
ballast resistor be in the circuit if and only if the stock OEM style 1.5 ohm coils are used.
If
your coils have been replaced with aftermarket coils, make sure that they are of
the proper rating. (2.5 - 3.0 ohm) If there is any question as the whether the ballast resistor is to remain
in the circuit, refer to my extensive technical article on updating to new
Nology coils -
