The "German" shop for 13 parts has got new grommets, saw it on his site, just thought i'd mention it
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

Well, it's leaking again.

From ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/Rebuilt-OEM...le-Kawasaki-Stator-2...

KZ1300 stators come in two different widths, 18,19 and 23,24 mm.

Mine is 19 mm. The Ricks part number is 21-242. ~150 USD.

They have grommets and will sell them for 5 USD each.

I found some new grommets and will install as time allows.

I've been battling a oil leak from the bottom of my stator cover. Some of thes3 covers weren't machined correctly and have gaps at the bottom of the cover.

I found that my covers had micro hairline cracks that produced leaks, which are near impossible for someone with failing eyesight to pickup unless using a magnifying glass. Then when I pulled the covers I could see where PO's had tried to fix them with metal weld. These bikes are getting on now and that aluminum doesn't stand up to the test of time like some other metals. I busted the circular housing where the thermostat goes by using an o-ring that was a bit thick for the job. The covers where the clean-air system is on the cylinder head cover have a tendency to break as well when using gaskets that are too thick. The gaskets that come in the Athena kit are like this.
