The rebuild is coming along well thanks biltonjim, I have just finished the head. Had to put a new set of exhaust valves and 3 exhaust guides in and 1 new inlet valve.
I set all the valve clearances on the bench so that is ready to go.

The barrels have been rebored and have fitted a new set of .05mm oversize pistons. I got them from MCG, very nice quality.
All that is left to do now is fit the barrels and head. I have been putting it off as I know what kind of a job this can be. If all goes well by the end of tomorrow they will be back on.Then just a matter of putting the head back on and all the associated bits and pieces.

I also took the time to go back through the carbs again as I felt that I still had a blockage somewhere.
As it turned out I did, I found that one of the idle circuits was partially blocked. Rechecked my float heights wet , all good.

There is now a definate light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully she will be back on the road within the next few weeks, fingers crossed.

Hey Bill,

Those are the charts that I scanned and got my wife to shrink down to fit within an A4 page. I then got her to put in the 2 sets of circles to record the shim size in use and record the measured clearances for each valve, and the mileage. I like to have things written down in a simple format when I am doing these things, so just thought others might care to use it as well.
Cheers

Sorry TJ! I didn't understand that you had customized them for your use. I'll post them along side the manuals.

Hi Bill,

No worries, maybe the e-mail didn't send the entire page properly, just the chart and not the other modified stuff.

Anyway it's there now, all good.
