It was either the UK or the German site that sells Z1300 parts.

Checked back in my email - this is where I purchase it: www.zed-parts.com/product-page/49063-1001zp-mechanical-seal

One thing to note, between ordering and delivery, it took a couple of weeks.

Over the last week I've burned a tank of gas and worn out a pair of shoes going around to 8-10 different water pump / electric motor rebuild shops with seal in hand to try and match it up. On the  ZedParts site (mechanical seal)   there is a drawing of the seal less dimensions. I copied the drawing and added dimensions and along with the seal , went shopping. At one of the shops while talking to the owner, he decided that it would be best if I talked directly to his seal supplier who happened to be a representative for TPG USA, a company specializing in mechanical seals. He spent a whole day on researching and came up with the seal half but needed to have custom seal rings made (the piece that fits in the back of the impeller). I know that it's possible but for only 2 seal rings, probably over $100 to have done.
I had an email conversation with ZedParts and learned that they have had 2 previous batches of 200 seals made up (custom) and just ordered a 3rd batch of 200 seals. At 22 £ a piece ($28 USD) or ($37 CDN) it's a good price all things considered. It's the shipping that stings.

www.z1300.de also has seals available at 41 Euro and that's also a possibility. Not sure about the shipping costs.

At the end of the day, I ordered 2 mechanical seals, 2 lip seals, 2 o rings and 2 stainless circlips for a grand total of 99.70 £ shipping included so I'm all set. One stock cylinder and God willing and I'm able, one cylinder with 66mm custom sleeved bores and pistons. Could be interesting at 1470 cc's

Last, I wish we had the PM message system so I could PM KZQ and talk about creating an aftermarket parts supplier list so we don't have to go through this exercise every time someone needs a part.

Cheers everyone and Happy Holidays no matter how you celebrate them.

Received 2 mechanical seals, 2 water pump drive shaft lip seals, 2 stainless steel circlips for the water pump impeller, and 2 water pump impeller o rings from  www.zed-parts.com . Well packaged. They shipped via Royal Mail which transfers over to ( in my case) Canada Post. From time of shipping to final delivery - 13 days and no duties 96 £ ($164 CAD)
I was previously concerned about the possible height difference between the stock seal and the seal offered by Zed-Parts. When discussing what they had available, they told me that the stock seal as new was .740" tall. I measured my used seal at .695" tall (shorter by .045") Zed Parts seal measures .830" tall BUT it has a softer spring meaning after all is said and done, seal face pressure difference would be marginal. Looks good to me and as previously noted Zed Parts have just had their 3rd batch made up of another 200 seals.

Hoses are 'thinner' than OEM or from z1300.de. Very similar to hose material used on current dirt bikes. Looks good.
Gasket is also some kind of non-paper material. Noted a small imperfection.. See next to buisness card.

Parts arrived from down under??  Zed-pats is in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, United Kingdom

My 2 mechanical seals didn't come in no fancy yellow container. They were nicely wrapped up in a plastic zip-lock bag
