Parts Guarantee
Last Update 6/2/10
My guarantee on parts is that within 14 days after you've received
my part in the mail, if the part is non-functional, I'll send you another part (assuming I have one), give you a refund, or at my option an equal credit towards other parts. There are few exceptions to this! I want to be fair but I can't have people calling me back 3 months after they've purchased a part from me and saying 'Well, I just now got the part on my bike and it doesn't work'. I can't always test a part before I send it but I will exchange it for some other part you may need of equal value that's listed on my parts page if the part is non-functional, or refund your money at my option. This means if you see another part you need on the parts page, we can apply what you've paid for the bad part towards the other part. However, I'll have to make that decision whether I want to exchange for another part or refund your money as I may be working a deal with someone else on the part you want and I'll need to make the decision to refund or exchange. No Refunds at all on hydraulic parts including NOS hydraulic parts; even if a part worked for me who knows how long it will function. Generally
, No Refunds on parts that hold oil like rear ends or parts that have seals that may leak like front forks which are common maintenance items unless we clear this up front. If the part doesn't fit or doesn't work because you didn't mention what year bike you had or told me you had an 80' bike and in fact you have an 81' for example, then I'll take the part back and refund everything except the shipping and $50 for my time.I have a Paid Member DVD available, with a database of image files by year and model to determine what year/model bike you have, because some of the electrical stuff specifically, and many other parts can be different from year to year. On ignition parts, I have a comparison of igniters and pickups for all years posted on the Z1300 Technical Articles page. If $50 seems like too much for my time consider just how much time is involved in removing a part, cleaning it, packaging it properly and going to the Post Office and back besides how long I stand in line down there! There's many times I've spent 2 hours to pull a part, clean it, wrap it, make my labels, box it and ship it. Also, I mark many parts but mostly the electronic parts with a stencil if I think they're subject to return.
Maybe you can find a better deal on ebay but I've always encouraged members to buy off ebay and even have the best search terms posted on this site on how to do it. Keep in mind that most of these ebay sellers have a no-refund / no-return policy and many do not ship to overseas buyers. I try to get it right the first time.
I expect parts to be tested within a few days of you receiving any part in the mail and if
it's not working, I need to know ASAP.
